Technoblogs

Students in Business and IT courses

Students in year 11 and 12 Business and Information Communications (BIC) class will be creating a Technoblog (webpage) as part of their Cert I and II in Business and Cert I and II in Information Technology courses. Their webpage will act as an ePortfolio of their work throughout the two years of the course. It will show evidence of their learnings in class as well as encouraging students to add further content by following their own interests in this field. The skills developed during this process, are embedded in the competencies of these courses.

In this information age it becomes essential to prepare students for these new technological literacies because they are central to the use of information and the acquisition of knowledge for their education, in their daily lives and in the business world. These literacies are necessary for students to develop the skills needed to acquire knowledge by gathering, questioning, locating, critically evaluating, synthsizing and communicating that information to others.

Efficient information processing skills in a workplace context, opens doors to business opportunities. By developing high levels of communication and collaboration skills, an individual becomes even more important to economic productivity. Creating a Technoblog ePortfolio will add meaning to the skills they are developing through their studies.
